CELINN WADIER
Reunion Island

// BIOGRAPHY
Celinn Wadier is a composer, pianist and singer with a soft and powerful voice, creating intimate and dreamlike musical soundscapes. She has collaborated with diverse musicians and producers in a wide range of genres, and is a trained singer and teacher of Drupad, and Indian classical music form.
Celinn Wadier began creating songs in the 1990s, with a piano as her winged dragon. She developed an intimate and dreamlike musical universe, nurtured by Erik Satie, Kate Bush, film scores, and tales and legends. Her voice has a unique presence – a tone both soft and powerful – shaped by her travels and the long, rigorous study of Indian Dhrupad singing, one of the oldest forms of Indian classical music. A student and teacher in the lineage of Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar, Celinn holds a diploma in Dhrupad vocal and was awarded at the 2013 Varanasi Festival.
She draws inspiration, wonder, and sensitivity from her surroundings to fuel and share her dreamlike world-pop, with a new album release in 2026. Her album, Le Jardin (2019) – a collaboration with international producers Ettienne Jaumet, MajiKer, Niraj Chag, and Heiko Dijler – was warmly received by the press, including Les Inrockuptibles, France Culture, RFI, and RMC
